Insight Scans

Patient hand on INSIGHT scanner with results displayed on tablet

Imagine your nervous system as the body's command centre, sending messages that help you move, breathe, and digest food. To ensure it's working well, our Chiropractors use special tools called Insight Scans. These scans give them insight into how well the Nervous Systems functioning and helps them to create a tailored care plan optimize the heath of you and your family.

Heart Rate Variability (HRV)

HRV measures the tiny differences in time between your heartbeats. This might sound small, but it's a big deal for your health! A flexible, ever-changing heartbeat pattern means your nervous system can adapt well to stress, like shifting gears smoothly while driving. If your heartbeats are too rigid or too erratic, it may indicate that your body is struggling to handle daily challenges, whether it's school stress, physical strain, or even sleep problems.

Your nervous system has two main parts: the "fight-or-flight" system (sympathetic) and the "rest-and-digest" system (parasympathetic). A healthy balance between these two is key. HRV tells us how well these systems are working together. If your body is stuck in high-stress mode for too long, it could lead to problems like poor sleep, fatigue, or trouble focusing. By tracking HRV, chiropractors can see if your nervous system needs support to help you feel more energetic, relaxed, and resilient.

Thermal Scanning

Imagine your body as a high-tech machine, with your nerves acting like electrical wires sending messages back and forth. Thermal scanning checks the temperature along your spine to see if your nerves are working smoothly. If both sides of your spine have similar temperatures, that's a good sign! But if one side is warmer or cooler than the other, it could mean there's nerve interference. This can be caused by stress, tension, or even misaligned bones affecting how your nerves send signals.

When nerves aren't communicating properly, it can affect digestion, circulation, and even your immune system. By using thermal scanning, chiropractors can find areas where nerves might be struggling and help correct the issue before it leads to bigger health concerns. The goal is to keep your body's messaging system running smoothly so you feel your best every day.

Surface Electromyography (sEMG)

sEMG measures the electrical activity in the muscles along your spine. Think of your muscles as workers that keep your posture upright and your body moving. If they're working too hard in some areas and too little in others, it could mean your nervous system isn't sending clear signals. This can cause muscle tension, pain, and even fatigue, making it harder to sit in class, play sports, or focus on homework.

With sEMG, chiropractors can see patterns of muscle activity that might not be obvious just by looking at posture. Too much activity might mean your body is overcompensating for an issue, while too little could suggest weakness or nerve interference. By identifying these imbalances, chiropractors can create a plan to help your body function more efficiently, reducing strain and keeping you feeling strong and balanced.

These scans give chiropractors a deep look into how your nervous system is functioning, helping them pinpoint stress, imbalances, and areas that need support. With this information, they can make adjustments to improve nerve communication, reduce tension, and boost overall health.
